Great Home and Garden Improvement Tips

Hi! My name is Gary and this is my home and garden improvement blog. My passion for working on my home and garden began when I bought my first house. It was a run down little place in the suburbs of Sydney. Even though the place was in a bit of a state, it was in a fantastic location. I spent many hours reading up on DIY and gardening tips before setting about improving the place. It was a lot of hard work but it was also a lot of fun. I learnt a lot during that time so I decided to start this blog.

Five Tips To Help Design An Incredible Swimming Pool

by admin

When summer sets in, everyone prefers to sit by pools and have fun with family or friends. A good swimming pool design can spice up the experience and add more fun. Here are some tips to help arrive at a unique and attractive pool design.

Consider the Direction of Shade

Avoid long shades that extend to the pool. Storied houses and trees tend to have long shadows. These shades keep the poolside cold and boring. Ensure the direction of the shade does not affect the pool in any way. Everyone wants to enjoy some sunshine after getting out of water.

Consider the Pool Size

Too large pools are costly. They can use some land that would be convenient for landscaping. Too small pools on the other hand can fail to meet your basic needs, particularly sporting. Achieving a balance is paramount. Choose a design layout that uniquely suits your needs.

Consider privacy

Most people are uncomfortable having neighbours peep into their compounds when in swimming costume only. Fencing around the poolside or landscaping with evergreen shrubs reduces the visual periphery. Green plantings also add natural beauty besides enhancing privacy.

Consider Shape

Your pool shape should complement the design of the house.  For example, a waterfall oasis layout creates a perfect atmosphere with the falling waters forming an incredible design for an outdoor pool. This design ultimately complements a luxurious lifestyle.

Consider Design components

A pool patio is probably the most significant aspect of a pool. It should be well concreted and spacious to allow wide walkways. Nevertheless, when the budget does not fit the demands, ensure that there is enough space for future expansion. You can choose between pool patio material made from pavers or stamped concrete. Both of these are affordable and durable. Your choice should be based on taste and preference.

Consider Lighting

Another component is pool lighting. Traditional lighting is a reasonably great choice because it is cheap and easy to fix. However, for luxury and fashion, LED lighting does the trick. LED lights give a fresh look to the pool because they come in different colors besides being very energy efficient.

An entirely natural feel can achieve an excellent pool design. Different materials such as glass tiles or mosaic make the floor area of the pool. The later enhances a glossy appearance and is attention grabbing. Water features, such as fountains, boost a striking, romantic feel to the pool environment. The sound of the springing water and the breeze creates a natural near-coastal environment.
